Commenting on the junior doctors recent strike action, Shasha Khan, spokesperson for Croydon Green Party, said:
“The government has failed to address doctors’ serious concerns surrounding patient safety, and has treated them with contempt throughout the negotiations. They have been forced to strike because they are not being heard.”
“Against a backdrop of big business and the super rich dodging their taxes, and short-changing the public, it’s shameful that the government chooses to put patient safety at risk and arrogantly impose a contract on our already overworked and demoralised junior doctors.
“This contract is flawed and it’s high time Jeremy Hunt returned to the negotiating table.
“Twenty-five years of marketisation has left it fragmented and increasingly vulnerable to being picked off by private providers. This is the latest in an all out assault on our health service by government intent on breaking it up.”
